Our Team
Ryan N. Porell, Ph.D. is the CEO/Founder of AlchemiCarb. Dr. Porell has contributed to the advancement of glycotechnology with pioneering research efforts and peer-reviewed publications across a range of discplines including chemical glycobiology, glycomaterials synthesis, and nanoparticle bioconjugation. With 10+ years in glycoscience research and technology at pioneering institutions including the Naval Research Lab, Virginia Tech, University of California San Diego, and Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Porell has a demonstrated expertise and passion for glyconanotechnology. His appreciation for glycoscience as a primary driver of future diagnostics and therapeutics and the critical need for standardized research tools motivated him to start AlchemiCarb to provide 3D nanoscale platforms and materials for uncovering and quantifying lectin-binding interactions that are biologically relevant, affordable, and accessible to the community.
